Use of micro-pipette and matters needing attention

Micropipette is a continuous adjustable, special instrument for measuring and transferring liquids. It is equipped with a direct reading volumeter. There are four specifications of the micro pipette in our laboratory, which can continuously adjust the reading within the range of the pipette. The four specifications of the pipette are as follows: 0.5-10 ml (reading window shows 0.5-10.0, each shift is 0.1 ml); 5-50 ml (reading window shows 5.0-50.0, each shift is 0.5 ml); 20-200 ml (reading window shows 20-200, each shift is 1 mul); 100-1000 mul (reading window shows 100-1000, each shift is 5 mul).
_liquid measurement procedures:
_1. Install micro-pipette into suction head (different sizes of pipette use different suction head)
_2. Press the button of the micro-pipette gently to the first stop point.
Hold the micro-pipette vertically so that the suction nozzle is immersed several millimeters below the liquid sample surface. Never insert the suction nozzle directly into the bottom of the liquid.
_4. Slowly and smoothly release the control button and absorb the sample liquid. Otherwise, the liquid enters the suction nozzle too quickly, which leads to the liquid inverted suction inside the pipette, or the volume of suction reduced.
5. Wait a second and lift the suction nozzle off the liquid surface.
6. Press the button smoothly to the first stop point, then press the button to the second stop point to discharge the remaining liquid.
_7. Lift the micro-pipette, so that the suction nozzle rubs across the wall of the container.
_8. Then press the suction nozzle ejector to remove the suction nozzle.
Points for attention in liquid measurement operation:
_1. A micro-pipette without a suction nozzle can never be used to absorb any liquid.
_2. We must set the capacity within the allowable range. We must not adjust the reading beyond its applicable scale, otherwise it will cause damage.
_3. Do not place transporters with residual liquid suction nozzles horizontally.
_4. Do not use a large range of pipettes to remove small samples
